The challenging pre-licensure baccalaureate-nursing curriculum embodies diverse teaching and learning opportunities for patient care experiences in the context of a well-balanced educational program. The post-licensure RN-BSN program augments the associate’s degree in a student-friendly online educational environment. The undergraduate programs focus on preparation of the nurse generalist who successfully transitions to practice and graduate programs. The accomplishments of school of nursing graduates who consistently perform well on the national licensure examination, who are highly valued by employers, and who, in large numbers, hold management positions in the healthcare arena demonstrate the success of the undergraduate programs.

The school of nursing also offers innovative graduate programs at the master’s and doctoral levels. Students in the master’s and PhD programs are prepared to develop undergraduate and graduate students who will be able to contribute to the health and well-being of diverse populations across the lifespan. Graduates of the PhD programs gain knowledge in nursing education practices as well as acquire leadership skills to assume the role of administrators within the academic and/or clinical practice environment.

Meet the Chief Nursing Administrator

Wendy Lingle

Dr. Wendy Lingle was named Chief Nurse Administrator of the ��سԹ� School of Nursing in August 2026. Throughout her educational career, Dr. Lingle has taught at every level of nursing education, including Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN), Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and graduate nursing programs. She joined ��سԹ� School of Nursing as faculty and most recently served as Associate Dean of Nursing before she was appointed Chief Nurse Administrator.

As Chief Nurse Administrator, Dr. Lingle oversees all academic programs across the School of Nursing, including the Pre-Licensure BSN, LPN Advanced Placement Hybrid BSN, 2nd Degree Hybrid BSN, Healthcare Transitions Hybrid BSN, RN to BSN, MSN, PhD, and DNP to PhD programs. She is responsible for advancing the School of Nursing's mission through academic excellence, strategic program development, faculty leadership, and student success initiatives across all campuses. Throughout her career, she has contributed to curriculum development, accreditation processes, innovative program implementation, and initiatives designed to expand access to nursing education. She teaches undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral nursing courses at ��سԹ� and is committed to preparing nurses who are academically prepared, professionally competent, and grounded in Christian service.

Active in the nursing profession, Dr. Lingle serves on local and state committees focused on nursing advancement, workforce development, and accreditation. She participates in a variety of local, state, and national professional nursing organizations and remains engaged in efforts to strengthen the nursing profession and address healthcare needs throughout Mississippi and Louisiana.
